SUMMARY:Student Resilience: 9 Resiliency Factors Your School Can Influence VIRTUAL Workshop presented by Joan Fretz - 9-12pm
DESCRIPTION:Embark on a fascinating exploration of 9 Resiliency Factors that schools can influence\, through the teachings of Dr. Michael Ungar\, Director and Founder of the Resiliency Research Centre in Canada. Learn how resiliency research helps to shift our focus from psychopathology\, disorder and trauma to the promotive and protective factors that influence academic and developmental outcomes when a child experiences unusual amounts of stress. Learn how to examine your school’s mental health initiatives through Ungar’s Resiliency Lens. In educational settings\, there has been an unfair emphasis on a student’s individual responsibility to change\, and a lack of attention to the many social and institutional factors that make a student’s resilience possible. (Ungar\, M.\, Ed. Today Au\, 6-1-24.) Eligible for 3 hours CTLE credit. Can use 1/2 Consortium seat. If district pays\, district approval must be confirmed prior to start of session.\nFlyer: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-DyKDoB7Rme4JRZsQnnDymL9D0kT6QSk/view?usp=sharing\nRegistration: https://www.mylearningplan.com/WebReg/ActivityProfile.asp?D=13208&I=5136029
