SUMMARY:One Size Does Not Fit All: Curricular and Instructional Adjustments to Address Behavior *IN PERSON* presented by Michelle Levy - 8:30-2:30pm
DESCRIPTION:Research has shown that curricular and instructional adjustments are important components of positive behavior supports that lead to the reduction of problem behavior and promotion of student success. When thinking about changing student behavior\, focus should be placed on how adults are teaching and supporting the student both as part of a group and as an individual. Multiple opportunities to access\, engage and respond to academic tasks help to decrease feelings of frustration\, increase access to content and prompt academic engagement while creating a positive learning environment. Strategies presented will highlight curricular adaptations as to WHAT is taught\, instructional adaptations as to HOW content is taught and how learning is demonstrated and ecological adaptions which relate to where\, when and with whom instruction and learning takes place. Strategies presented will also form the basis for academic and behavioral accommodations and modifications as well as specially designed instruction as part of a well developed IEP. Eligible for 6 hours CTLE credit. Can use 1 Consortium seat. If district pays\, district approval must be confirmed prior to start of session.\nFlyer: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eIVzYg7fXexnJNdjVcuIh0Ar6MGZeolk/view?usp=sharing\nRegistration: https://www.mylearningplan.com/WebReg/ActivityProfile.asp?D=13208&I=5133493
