DESCRIPTION:Dyslexia is a complex\, language-based learning difference. It affects the organization in the brain that controls the ability to process the way language is heard\, spoken\, read\, or spelled. A diagnosis of dyslexia can pose unique challenges for ELLs and their educators. This interactive\, practical workshop will provide participants with a deep understanding of what dyslexia is and how it impacts learning for ELLs. Educators will leave with strategies for supporting ELLs with dyslexia in the classroom. Intended Audience: K-12 ENL Teachers\, Special Educators\, General Educators\, Reading Specialists\, Administrators Eligible for 6 hours CTLE credit. Can use 1-1/2 Consortium seats.
