DESCRIPTION:Part 1: Digital Safety and Online Behavior This session introduces essential digital safety concepts\, including understanding digital footprints\, identifying online threats (e.g.\, phishing\, scams\, and cyberbullying)\, and navigating privacy settings on common platforms used in schools. Educators will learn how to model safe online behavior\, evaluate websites and apps for student use\, and incorporate age-appropriate safety discussions into their classrooms. Tools and resources will be shared to help schools build a culture of digital responsibility.\nPart 2: Practical Cybersecurity Protecting Yourself and Your Students: In this hands-on session\, educators will learn real-world strategies to secure personal and student data across the digital tools they use every day. Participants will practice setting up strong passwords\, enabling multi-factor authentication\, adjusting app privacy settings\, and safely sharing student work. By the end of the workshop\, teachers will walk away with a personalized action plan and the confidence to create safer digital learning environments.\nPart 3: Digital Wellness\, Social Media\, and Creating Safe Online Learning Spaces This final session focuses on the emotional and mental impact of technology use\, including screen time\, digital addiction\, and media literacy. Educators will discuss the influence of social media on student behavior\, identity\, and safety\, and how to guide students in managing their digital presence. The session also covers creating safe\, inclusive online environments and promoting respectful digital communication in both in-person and remote settings.\nEligible for 9 hours CTLE credit. 1-1/2 Consortium seats can be used.
