Our Philosophy
Western Suffolk BOCES believes its highly qualified and dedicated employees form the foundation for helping students build successful lives. We hire employees in two basic categories:
Certified Employees
Our instructional and administrative staff are certified by the State Education Department. The type of certification required varies according to the position.
Civil Service Employees
Non-instructional staff such as our secretaries and several other positions are hired from the Suffolk County Civil Service lists. Other non-instructional staff such as our aides and custodians are in non-competitive Civil Service titles. Titles of positions depend on the job descriptions.  |
