Radiologic Technology

You’ll be an important member of the health care team when you pursue a career as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (Radiographer). Radiographers are responsible for obtaining high quality images that are critical to the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Through the Radiologic Technology program at Western Suffolk BOCES, you will receive training in the latest diagnostic radiography.

Students receive instruction in fully equipped classrooms and laboratories at our Wilson Tech Northport Campus by our highly trained and experienced faculty. Clinical training takes place at medical centers, hospitals and outpatient imaging centers.

Western Suffolk BOCES is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE)  which is fully recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) making all graduates eligible to take the ARRT examination.

The radiography program has also completed its site visit by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) and final determination of JRCERT accreditation is scheduled for release on August 24, 2021.
