Practical Nursing

Successful graduates of the School of Practical Nursing at Western Suffolk BOCES work in health care facilities across the metropolitan New York area under the direction of nurses, doctors or other authorized health care provider. Becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) can also be a springboard to other careers in health care. Those who successfully complete the New York State-approved Practical Nursing program at BOCES meet the qualifications for admission to the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN).
The School, located at Wilson Tech’s Northport campus, helps prepare adults with the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the health needs of our ever-changing society. The low ratio of students to faculty allows many opportunities for individualized instruction.

Western Suffolk BOCES is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE).
