Update on Water Testing

January 2021

In accordance with NYS Department of Health Lead Testing in School Drinking Water regulation, Western Suffolk BOCES is conducting testing of the water systems at WSBOCES-owned buildings. This regulation requires school districts and BOCES to test potable (drinking) water sources for lead contamination and to develop and implement a lead remediation plan, where applicable.

The environmental consulting and testing firm JC Broderick & Associates collected samples in accordance with the regulation and the results can be accessed through the link below. Both potable (drinking) and non-potable (hand-washing and cleaning) water sources were tested. All potable water sources that were identified as exceeding the lead action level were immediately removed from service.
