Western Suffolk BOCES Budget Approved

The Western Suffolk BOCES 2019-20 Administrative Budget was approved by the Boards of Education of the component school districts on April 30. The Boards also re-elected Ilene Herz, Esq. of Half Hollow Hills and Maryann Zumpano of Smithtown to the BOCES Board. Additionally, Brian Sales of Copiague was elected to his first-term as a BOCES trustee and he will be officially sworn in at the Reorganizational Meeting. Mildred Browne, an esteemed Western Suffolk BOCES Board member for 26 years, did not seek re-election.

“Our budget reflects our commitment to providing quality, specialized and diverse educational programming to our component districts that is also fiscally responsible,” said Michael Flynn, Chief Operating Officer. “We kept our increase below the Tax Cap and are appreciative of the support and confidence we received from the districts’ Boards of Education.”
