PROJECT-BASED LEARNING TEAMS WITH A FINNISH TOUCH 3-Day Virtual Training *Aligns with NYSED Portrait of a Graduate* Hosted by Finland Educator/Consultant, Petteri Elo-8:30-2:30pm

October 26, 2026 @ 8:30 am - February 1, 2027 @ 2:30 pm

This is a very special and unique opportunity for districts to work with an internationally recognized expert in the field of Finnish education! Day 1 – October 26, 2026: Participants will receive high-quality instruction on the foundational principles of engaging, authentic project-based learning. They’ll also have the opportunity to virtually meet with Petteri for exclusive, tailored coaching to plan and design their projects, along with structured collaboration time for project planning. Asynchronous work on project plans will take place via shared Google documents, where Petteri will provide feedback, offer ideas, and ask guiding questions. Day 2 – November 16, 2026: Teams engage in exclusive virtual coaching meetings with Petteri for tailored feedback, guidance and support on projects, as well as peer feedback and structured planning time for collaboration on projects. *Between Day 2 and Day 3 – implementation of projects, Petteri is available for consultation if needed. Day 3 – February 1, 2027: Teams will virtually showcase projects and collectively reflect on the planning process, experiences in the classroom, student feedback and final products – an essential part of PBL! Each team will receive final feedback from Petteri.
• Space is VERY limited to only 6 teams.
• A team will consist of 2-4 members. Members will collaboratively work together on one project during the training.
• A district may choose to send more than one team of educators. *Please contact Debbi Maxwell directly at dmaxwell@wsboces.org if you plan to do this.*
• Every member must register individually on Frontline. (Please note – Not every individual will be charged. District will only be charged ONCE.)
