Rooted in Story, Guided by Practice: The Educator’s Heroic Journey *IN PERSON* facilitated by Corinne Cortes – 8:30-2:30pm

March 12, 2027 @ 8:30 am - 2:30 pm

Teaching is more than a profession-it is a journey of becoming, unfolding, and returning. In this immersive, full-day learning experience, educators are invited to explore their own path through the lens of the Hero’s Journey. Rather than focusing only on the stories brought into their professional roles, the experience gently turns inward, creating space to recognize oneself as an active participant in cycles of challenge, change, growth, and renewal. Through guided reflection, dialogue, and creative exercises, educators will explore their personal and professional experiences through the 12 stages and archetypes of the Hero’s Journey. Participants will reflect on their own “calls to adventure,” from entering the field of education to navigating moments of uncertainty, transition, and transformation. They will consider the mentors, obstacles, and turning points that have shaped their journey while approaching setbacks and experiences of burnout with compassion-as meaningful passages within a larger story of growth and becoming. Throughout the day, educators will engage in storytelling, journaling, and collaborative dialogue designed to support reflection, connection, and renewed awareness of meaning and purpose. This experience offers an opportunity to view one’s professional journey not as a fixed role, but as an evolving path shaped by resilience, learning, and continued growth. Participants will be introduced to reflective tools and perspectives that can support greater clarity, strengthen professional identity, and inspire thoughtful engagement with the next chapter of their educational journey. Eligible for 6 hours CTLE credit. Can use 1 consortium seat. Eligible for Guidance Consortium. If district pays, district approval must be confirmed prior to start of session.
