Sticks and Stones Implicit Bias Workshop *IN PERSON* facilitated by Dr. Stacey Mooney – 8:30-2:30pm

This workshop will help participants learn how to promote social unity and increase cultural awareness in your school and community. The course strengthens team unity by teaching participants to look at the world from a unique perspective, one that takes into consideration how different backgrounds can impact how they experience our society. The goal is to bridge cultural divides and make our schools and communities more welcoming and inclusive places for people of all abilities and backgrounds by helping participants see beyond their own personal worldview. This course will fulfill the NYS Dept of Ed training grant requirements for the Many Threads, One Fabric implicit bias training for public school educators and teach educators to be leaders committed to racial justice, diversity and equity work. The course goal will also establish implicit bias awareness as a year-round continuing education vehicle for diversity, equity, and inclusion work. Audience: K-12 Educators, Guidance Counselors, Social Workers, Administrators, Instructional Support Personnel. Eligible for 6 hours CTLE credit. Can use 1 consortium seat. If district pays, district approval must be confirmed prior to start of session.
