CREATING SUICIDE SAFETY IN SCHOOLS *IN PERSON* – 8:30-2:30pm
CS3 is an interactive, full-day workshop designed for school planning teams to assess, plan, and strengthen suicide prevention efforts across their schools. Participants deepen their understanding of suicide and effective school-based prevention, evaluate their current prevention and response readiness, explore evidence-based best practices, and develop a tailored, action-oriented implementation plan. The workshop supports schools in creating building and district-wide policies, procedures, and implementation plans, and provides templates and resources to guide successful adoption of their customized action plan. By the end of the training, participants will be able to: -Explain how to create a suicide safer school community. -Analyze your school’s existing suicide prevention and intervention readiness. -Explain youth suicide and a framework for a comprehensive school-based approach -Describe how to find guidance based on best practices. -Develop a suicide prevention action plan for your school. -Explain how to access low or no-cost resources that enhance school health and safety relative to suicide prevention Who Should Attend? School administrators, school health and mental health professionals, school counselors, nurses, community providers, and others who may be involved in prevention initiatives Fee covers continental breakfast and lunch. Six (6) continuing education (CE) credit hours are available for LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, and NYS Certified School Psychologists upon completion of course.
