February 9, 2027 @ 11:30 am - 2:30 pm

Participants will examine the Culturally Responsive-Sustaining (CRS) Framework and explore the five basic cultural competencies that teachers should address to create inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environments for all students. The session will focus on how culture, identity, language, and students’ lived experiences can influence classroom interactions, engagement, and learning. Participants will explore practical strategies and classroom activities that promote cultural awareness, build relationships, encourage student voice, and connect learning to students’ backgrounds and experiences. A variety of technology tools and software applications that can support culturally responsive instruction, student engagement, collaboration, and reflection will also be introduced and reviewed. Participants will leave with practical ideas and resources that can be adapted across grade levels and content areas to strengthen culturally responsive-sustaining practices in their classrooms. Eligible for 3 hours CTLE credit. If district pays, district approval must be confirmed prior to start of session.
