Epic Engagement: The Science and Art of Engaging Every Learner 6-12 – 3-hour VIRTUAL workshop facilitated by Randall Klein – 8:30-11:30am

If students are compliant but not thinking, they’re not truly engaged. This interactive workshop explores what actually drives attention, motivation, participation, and deep learning-and how educators can intentionally design lessons that move beyond passive engagement. Participants will examine the key drivers of engagement, including cognitive challenge, relevance, relationships, accountability, and classroom climate. Through practical examples and hands-on activities, educators will learn strategies such as high-impact questioning techniques, retrieval practices, movement-based engagement, discussion protocols, think time structures, and participation systems that ensure every student has a voice. Walk away with a toolbox of immediately applicable strategies that increase student thinking, participation, and ownership without relying on gimmicks or constant entertainment. Eligible for 3 hours CTLE credit. Can use 1/2 consortium seat. If district pays, district approved must be confirmed prior to start of session.
