Love of Reading Through Book Clubs (K-5) 3-hour Workshop facilitated by Karen Lucchese – 8:30-11:30am

Let’s bring back book clubs to develop love of reading, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and team work. In this workshop, the teachers will develop a systemic way of creating fun book clubs on the reader’s level and interest. A variety of different book club templates will be shared and time will be allowed for the participants to develop templates to meet the needs of their students. In addition, the participants will learn various management techniques as well as routines that can be followed in the classroom. Time will be allocated to review certain chapter books, and novels to determine reading and interest levels. Eligible for 3 hours CTLE credit. If district pays, district approved must be confirmed prior to start of session. Can use 1/2 consortium seat
