Master Scheduling Aligned with Portrait of a Graduate: A Step-by-Step Four-Part Series from Planning to Implementation VIRTUAL 6-hour Series – 3:15-4:45pm

This interactive four session workshop series is designed for administrators, counselors, educators and anyone looking to learn how to create or support a master school schedule aligned with the NY Inspires Portrait of a Graduate initiative. Across four sessions, participants will explore how to approach scheduling not just as a logistical task, but as a strategic process that impacts student achievement, equity, staffing, and school culture. Through guided discussion and targeted activities, participants examine effective scheduling practices, analyze common pitfalls, and focus on the most critical steps needed to build and refine an effective master schedule. Participants will be able to: -Analyze course request data to inform section and staffing decisions -Apply conflict matrix planning to reduce student scheduling conflicts -Align scheduling structures with instructional priorities such as intervention, teaming, and common planning time -Collaborate with stakeholders to make staffing and program decisions -Outline next steps for strengthening their master scheduling process This professional learning experience supports both first-time schedulers and experienced leaders seeking a clearer and more strategic approach. Participants will gain foundational knowledge of key scheduling concepts and learn how to use data, collaboration, and planning structures to support teaching and learning. Eligible for 6 hours CTLE credit. If district pays, district approval must be confirmed prior to start of session.
