Organizational Strategies and Classroom Environment Pre-K-6 *IN PERSON* facilitated by Anna Maria Montuori – 8:30-11:30am
The goal of this workshop is to help participants develop different perspectives to use in creating a well-designed and organized classroom environment that will increase academic engagement, decrease the likelihood of inappropriate student behavior, and facilitate appropriate social interactions with all the constituencies of the school community. Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to: 1. Arrange a physical layout to maximize learning, appropriate behavior, and transitions 2. Create effective learning centers and strategies and schedules for their use 3. Establish routines and procedures to build student independence 4. Organize tools, checklists, materials, and schedules 5. Create rules and have high expectations for students’ behavior and academic success 6. Compare and contrast different behavior plans 7. Explain how technology can help them “work smarter, not harder” Eligible for 3 hours CTLE credit. Can use 1/2 consortium seat. If district pays, district approval must be confirmed prior to start of session.
