The Writing Revolution K-2 2-Day VIRTUAL Workshop – 9-2pm
This virtual training introduces educators to the foundational principles of the Hochman Method®, a comprehensive approach to teaching expository writing across all content areas. Participants learn developmentally appropriate strategies to strengthen students’ oral expression, build sentence skills, and lay the groundwork for clear, organized writing. We will focus on helping young learners use a variety of sentence structures, expand vocabulary, organize their thoughts before writing paragraphs, and communicate ideas effectively-both verbally and in writing. Educators also explore how early writing and oral language instruction support comprehension and critical thinking. This training includes instructional videos, modeling, interactive checks for understanding, and guided practice using our AI tool, Judy, to create engaging, classroom-ready activities. Who is it for? -This training is open to all educators of grades K-2, but it is especially suited to teachers of the humanities – English & History – including special education and ELL/EB educators -Instructional coaches and school or district leaders seeking to scale school- or district- wide writing practices through targeted review and support Eligible for 10 hours CTLE credit. Can use 5-1/2 consortium seats pp. If district pays, district approved must be confirmed prior to start of session.
