Understanding Oppositional Defiant Disorder: Strategies for School Success *IN PERSON* Presented by Consulting That Makes a Difference – 8:30-2:30pm

This engaging workshop is designed to equip educators, school counselors, and support staff with a deeper understanding of Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD). Participants will explore the key characteristics of ODD, how it differs from typical behavioral issues, and the underlying emotional, neurological, and environmental factors that influence oppositional behavior. Through interactive discussions and evidence-based strategies, participants will be provided with practical guidance on de-escalation techniques, relationship-building, and proactive classroom management. Emphasis will be placed on creating supportive learning environments that reduce power struggles, promote emotional regulation, and reinforce positive behaviors.Eligible for 6 hours CTLE credit. Can use 1-1/2 Consortium seats. If district pays, district approval must be confirmed prior to start of session.
