Where Science Meets Care: Restoring the Whole Educator *IN PERSON* facilitated by Corinne Cortes – 8:30-2:30pm
In the demands of today’s educational systems, educators are often focused on caring for everyone else while their own well-being takes a back seat. This day of reflection and learning invites participants to explore a deeper foundation for resilience through the concept of “cell care” as self-care, connecting everyday choices to whole-body health and long-term sustainability. Grounded in emerging understandings of trauma biology and nervous system regulation, this session bridges science and practice in accessible, meaningful ways for educators. Participants will explore how chronic stress, being overwhelmed, and constant activation can impact the body at a cellular level and how this sho
ws up in energy, focus, and overall well-being. Through reflection and practical tools, educators will explore how mindfulness, nervous system regulation, and restorative practices can support balance, resilience, and long-term well-being. Together, we will examine small, intentional shifts that support nervous system regulation, strengthen presence and capacity, and encourage a more embodied approach to self-care. By tending to the body at a cellular level, educators are invited to consider how these practices can help support both personal well-being and professional effectiveness over time. Eligible for 6 hours CTLE credit. Can use 1 consortium seat. Eligible for Guidance Consortium. If district pays, district approval must be confirmed prior to start of session.
