Exploring Resources for Jewish American Heritage Month 3-hour workshop *IN PERSON* facilitated by Liz Burns Taormina – 8:30-11:30am

Schools reflect the diverse identities of our broader society. This session explores why heritage months are vital for fostering a sense of belonging and ensuring historical accuracy in the classroom. Using the Jewish American experience as a primary lens, educators will learn about the rich diversity within this ethnic community. We will examine the varied identities of Jewish Americans and how they see themselves today. By understanding Jewish American history, experiences over time, and lasting contributions, participants will gain the pedagogical confidence to teach complex identities, fostering a classroom environment rooted in mutual understanding and respect. Eligible for 3 hours CTLE credit. Can use 1/2 consortium seat. If district pays, district approved must be confirmed prior to start of session.
