Building a Culturally Proficient Elementary Classroom K-12 *IN PERSON* facilitated by Anna Maria Montuori – 8:30-11:30am
This workshop presents practical strategies for creating inclusive elementary classroom environments. Through discussions and hands-on activities, participants will: 1. Reflect on their own cultural identities through the Cultural Proficiency Continuum 2. Distinguish between equality and equity 3. Review instructional practices that honor their students’ cultural backgrounds 4. Learn to develop inclusive lesson plans 5. Explore strategies for accommodating diverse learning styles 6. Develop strategies to foster meaningful family engagement 7. Work cooperatively to develop equity action plans Each educator will leave with actionable steps to support all students. Eligible for 3 hours CTLE credit. Can use 1/2 consortium seat. If district pays, district approval must be confirmed prior to start of session.
