Building The RESPONSE A School Crisis Team Curriculum To Traumatic Death & Suicide *IN PERSON* – 8:30-3:30pm

The Building the Response to Traumatic Death & Suicide: School Crisis Team Training Curriculum (CTC) is a six-module training designed to equip leaders of school crisis response teams with the knowledge and skills to effectively build, lead, and strengthen their teams following a sudden, traumatic, or suicide related death. Participants are prepared to bring the curriculum back to their own crisis teams and guide implementation locally, ensuring a coordinated, timely, and effective response. The training focuses on restoring stability and the learning environment, supporting students and staff through acute stress and grief, preventing complicated grief, vicarious trauma, and traumatic stress injuries, reducing the risk of suicide contagion, and identifying and supporting vulnerable youth. CTC also prepares crisis team leaders to develop and sustain long-term postvention plans, including guidance on memorials, communication, and policies that promote ongoing healing and resilience. Upon completion, school crisis teams will be able to: -Build, lead, and strengthen their crisis response team -Implement a timely response that restores stability and the learning environment -Support students and staff experiencing acute stress and grief -Reduce risk of complicated grief, vicarious trauma, and traumatic stress injuries -Apply protocols that minimize suicide contagion risk -Identify and connect vulnerable youth to appropriate support -Develop long-term postvention plans covering memorials, communication, and policy Who Should Attend?
