ASSESSMENT STRATEGY COHORT – Three sessions plus individual district support – Three 3-hour Sessions *IN PERSON* facilitated by Nicole Moriarty, Ed.D – 8:30-11:30am

With NY Inspires sunsetting diploma assessment requirements, each district’s local assessment strategy becomes how students demonstrate proficiency in the NYS Learning Standards and the Portrait of a Graduate attributes, whether from the NYS Portrait or a district’s own. In this cohort, district teams will complete the Learning Lab work and then build their own assessment strategy, ready to publish on their district website by spring. Session 1 | Monday, January 11 | 8:30-11:30 Explore assessment types, begin an assessment analysis in one content area, and leave with a turnkey protocol your team can use in every department. Session 2 | Tuesday, March 2 | 8:30-11:30 Share progress and findings with other districts and outline next steps. Session 3 | Tuesday, May 4 | 8:30-11:30 Finalize your assessment strategy for publication. Between sessions, each district team can schedule one-hour virtual meetings with Nicole to ask questions, brainstorm, and get feedback on their work. Eligible for 9 hours CTLE credit. Can use 4-1/2 seats per team. If district pays, district approval must be confirmed prior to start of session.
