Using Social-Emotional Learning in Elementary Classrooms Pre-K-6 Addressing Childhood Anxiety through SEL Strategies *IN PERSON* facilitated by Anna Maria Montuori – 8:30-11:30am

Given the alarming rise in childhood anxiety reflected by current mental health statistics, this workshop will delve into practical social emotional learning (SEL) strategies that educators can seamlessly integrate into their daily routines. Attendees will: -Understand that SEL is not a separate subject to teach, but rather an approach to create an environment where every student feels accepted, safe, and motivated to learn -Identify the five core SEL competencies -Develop a schedule on how to incorporate SEL in daily classroom routines -Examine how to incorporate SEL and Mindfulness across the curriculum -Review the use of social media in the classroom -Reflect on SEL’s impact on academic achievement, assessment, behavior, and mental wellness -Work collaboratively to create a portfolio of strategies to implement Eligible for 3 hours CTLE credit. Can use 1/2 consortium seat. If district pays, district approval must be confirmed prior to start of session.
